How Cleaning Between Stays Works
Between one guest checking out and the next checking in, there are often only a few hours. In that short window, a process happens that has a disproportionate impact on reviews: cleaning.
What we check first
Before any cleaning, we do a quick inspection of the property: we look for damage, check that nothing is missing, and confirm appliances and equipment are working. This step prevents unpleasant surprises for the next guest.
The cleaning process
We follow a fixed checklist per room — kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms, living room, and outdoor areas — to ensure consistency no matter who does the cleaning. Bedding and towels are always replaced, never just “tidied.” High-contact surfaces (light switches, door handles, remote controls) get extra attention.
Restocking consumables
Soap, toilet paper, coffee or tea pods, and basic kitchen staples are restocked at every cleaning. A property missing these small details generates complaints disproportionate to the actual issue.
Final check
Before a property is marked as ready, we do a photo check of every room. This serves two purposes: confirming nothing was missed, and creating a record in case a dispute arises over the property’s condition.
Why this matters to the owner
Inconsistent cleaning is one of the most common causes of 3-star reviews — even when the property itself is excellent. A structured process, not dependent on the memory of whoever is cleaning, is what separates amateur management from professional management.
